Transplant Nephrologist at The Rogosin Institute
New York, NY 10021
About the Job
The Rogosin Institute (RI) is an independent not-for-profit medical care and research organization affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medicine. Rogosin is one of the premier centers for the diagnosis and management of kidney disease in the country. Rogosin has played an integral role in the kidney transplant program since its first transplant in 1963, when it established itself as the first transplant program in New York. The kidney transplant program has an excellent reputation as an innovative center that maximizes opportunities for transplantation for all patients who seek our care. As the founding member center of the National Kidney Registry, we offer kidney exchange in addition to the positive crossmatch and ABO-incompatible programs that pre-dated the availability of exchange. The program is known for its early steroid withdrawal protocol, which the majority of kidney recipients have received since late 2001. In addition, Rogosin manages ten dialysis centers in New York City providing care for 1,500 patients with end-stage kidney disease. The Institute also treats patients with diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders and conducts research in these areas.
We currently have an opportunity for a full-time Transplant Nephrologist who will provide pre-transplant, inpatient transplant, and post-transplant care to patients being cared for by the NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Program. The Transplant Nephrologist will evaluate and treat patients in accordance with the transplant program’s policies and procedures, perform rounds in the hospital, and provide transplant-related consultations in both hospital and clinic settings. In addition, the Transplant Nephrologist will participate in multidisciplinary meetings such as transplant candidate selection, donor selection, and other key meetings.
