Position Summary
Join our team as a Transport Aide, where you'll play a crucial role in assisting patients across various locations within the hospital. You will collaborate with nurses, technicians, and other medical professionals to safely transport patients for diagnostic testing, procedures, and discharges. This includes transferring patients in and out of beds, and safely using wheelchairs, stretchers, and movable beds to transport them across departments and for discharge.
Position Highlights

Responsibilities
- Safely assist patients in and out of beds and chairs, ensuring the proper use of medical equipment and adherence to safety standards.
- Transport patients within the hospital, including moves from the emergency room to patient rooms, across departments, or to discharge.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate approach while communicating with patients and their families.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. The hiring range starts at $16.00/hour.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred but not required.
Required Certification
- CPR Certification (can be obtained upon hire).
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and time-management.
- Good physical fitness for extended periods of standing, walking, and patient handling.
Physical Demands
- Frequently lifts, positions, pushes, pulls, or transfers over 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking, with frequent bending and twisting.
- Requires manual dexterity and mobility to handle equipment and assist patients.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to risks of bloodborne diseases and mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergency shifts as needed.
- Long periods of patient mobilization and exposure to potential hazards.
