Founded in 1998, WorldWide Electric has grown to be a leading developer, manufacturer and distributor of high-quality standard and custom electric motors, gear reducers, motor controls, generators and frequency converters. In 2020, WorldWide Electric acquired the Louis Allis Company. Founding in 1901, Louis Allis produced specialty motors for unique and demanding applications. Industrial, military, and municipal customers from around the world trust Louis Allis to provide specialty motors up to 20,000 hp. In July 2021 WorldWide Electric acquired the frequency converter and generator producer, Georator Corporation. And in October 2021, WorldWide Electric acquired Gleason-Avery, a specialty OEM gearmotor manufacturer.

In January 2024 WorldWide Electric purchased North American Electric which has helped expand our company specifically in the electric motors and motor controls area and providing our customers with product availability, value and quality of service.

Combining the wide-reaching sales, service, and support of WorldWide Electric with the custom specialty motor capability of Louis Allis, the generator and frequency converter capability of Georator/Athlon and the gearmotors from Gleason-Avery creates a one-of-a-kind supplier dedicated to providing the best products and support in the industry. WorldWide Electric, Louis Allis, Georator, Athlon and Gleason-Avery can provide a full range of standard off-the-shelf products, modified standard products and full custom specialty products.

In addition to our headquarters in Rochester, we have manufacturing facilities in Warrior, Alabama and Auburn, NY, as well as home-based team members throughout the US. With eight regional warehouses, a dedicated team of inside and outside sales and extensive technical and customer support resources, WorldWide Electric provides unparalleled service to its customers.
