About the role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for an entry-level Transportation Engineer in our Milwaukee, Burlington, or Janesville, office. This position will primarily consist of design and construction engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. This team-orientated position will include working with Baxter & Woodman’s diverse disciplines and offices.
What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job
- Design Roadway, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements using Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
- Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
- Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
- Complete engineering plans and specifications using DOT Standards.
- Process Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
- Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
- Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required for project delivery.
Education Requirement
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
Must-haves, what you will bring
- Relevant internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects.
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
- Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
- Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Anticipated F.E. (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification.
- Knowledge of designing roadway and underground improvements with Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
- Experience with Geopak.
Compensation - The pay range for this role is $72,000 to $75,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
