Job Summary
This role oversees the routes & route drivers in providing prompt, efficient and courteous service to all customers through utilization of the routing system.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Assigns, organizes & coordinates driver routes ensuring route efficiency based on stops and route costs.
- Utilizes Roadnet Transportation Suite & PeopleNet software routing/navigation systems optimizing fleet routing and schedules based on specific customer parameters.
- Reviews daily & weekly demand/volume for routes, and perform re-routes to maximize effectiveness and efficiencies of runs.
- Responsible for new personnel interviewing, training, development of drivers and education on proper procedures.
- Monitors driver hours to maintain compliance with DOT regulations.
- Provides input for evaluating driver, route performance and customer service.
- Maintains customer accounts through personal and telephone contact ensuring quality service to customers in coordination with the Transportation Manager & Customer Service Representative.
- Assists in conducting accident investigations with EHS Coordinator and reports findings to upper management.
- Schedules & documents driver safety meetings ensuring compliance with all company safety rules and regulations as well as federal, state and local DOT regulations.
- Completes daily and weekly reports on tickets, manifests, costs, and routing.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; college degree or completed college coursework preferred.
- One or more years of experience in agribusiness or transportation.
- Routing system experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Works well with others in a team environment.
- Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
- Highly organized; superior time management skills.
- Good math and computer skills.
- Clean driving record and willing to obtain Class B CDL within 6 months.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
- Occasionally must push, pull, move or lift up to 50lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out at the plant location, office environment, company or personal vehicle, and in customer locations.
