The Transportation Planner has responsibility for assisting in overseeing the Over-The-Road transportation operations to ensure safe, cost-effective, profitable and timely movement of hazardous chemicals and wastes and promoting consistent compliance with DOT codes and regulations as applicable to Rinchem operations. The Load Planner is a cumulative job encompassing certain sales and planning activities to grow Transportation business. This position is intended to increase the profit and operational efficiency of the company. The Load Planner will create, recommend and implement solutions to customer’s needs, and provide follow-up to ensure that the customer’s expectations are met. The Transportation Planner will stay highly conversant in the needs of the Transportation industry, Rinchem routes, environmental regulations, industry practices, and all Federal and State Regulations.

Scope and Responsibilities:Some of your responsibilities will be: Load Planning: Customer interface Accept, reject and/or negotiate shipment requests Timely respond to e-mails and Phone calls (no more than 2 hours) At least weekly updates of status of loads on the road. Customer reports as required Empty container management Quotes Driver planning: Use data provided by dispatch to plan drivers in a manner that is efficient and profitable while meeting their home time and leave requirements. Ensure Software is up to date at all times Make sure that the Order/Load accurately reflects exactly what customer requires. Insure that JBDs, WIs, SOPs and regulations are followed Work with Planner II to improve Safety, Accuracy and Productivity Delegate duties as needed to Planner II and/or Driver Managers Assist as requested by Operations Manager

Qualifications:General Requirements: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Transportation system of record Must possess analytical skills Excellent customer service skills at every level of an organization Must have the ability to understand and comply with regulations Willingness to work all shifts and overtime when needed Five years of progressive transportation management experience Bachelor’s Degree or year for year experience in Transportation Operations in addition to 5 years of experience previously listed Knowledge of regulations - DOT, EPA and other applicable federal and state regulations Experience with hazardous materials and/or waste transportation Resiliency and adaptable to changing needs in environment
