Position: Transportation Planner

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Transportation Planner to join our North American Supply Chain team. This key role will involve managing outbound customer shipments, inbound transportation routing, and scheduling for distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and sterilizers. The successful candidate will leverage their knowledge of SAP, JDE, and a Transportation Management System (Blue Yonder) to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Outbound Shipment Scheduling : Plan and schedule outbound customer shipments from assigned distribution centers using SAP, JDE, and a Transportation Management System (Blue Yonder). Select the most appropriate carriers to meet both company and customer service requirements.
• Inbound Transportation Management : Manage routing and scheduling for inbound transportation related to plants, sterilizers, and distribution centers, ensuring efficient coordination across multiple facilities.
• Cost Optimization : Focus on delivering cost-effective shipping solutions while maintaining high service levels. Balance customer needs with carrier partnerships to secure the best financial options.
• Performance Metrics : Ensure adherence to critical performance metrics, including on-time delivery and appointed loads, while optimizing for the best possible cost outcomes.
• Collaboration & Coordination : Work closely with various internal stakeholders to align shipping processes with business needs, such as temperature-controlled shipments or resolving backorder situations.
• Process Improvement : Contribute to operational success by continuously looking for ways to improve shipment efficiency and cost savings.
