Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a part-time **Transportation Planning Assistant** in **Providence, Rhode Island** office. We're looking for individuals with transportation planning or community engagement backgrounds looking to develop public engagement and data gathering skills. We have part-time openings to support our work as-needed with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation at MBTA Commuter Rail Stations in Rhode Island. Individuals will be part of a field-work team that will count passengers, with the possibility of additional assignments, pending individual’s interest in railroad or public transit-related subjects. _This position is expected to begin as soon as possible._ **The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:** + Documenting and observing customer behavior and patterns as they use a specific ticket vending machine (TVM). + Engaging with members of the public by asking them to fill out a TVM Survey. + Supporting the survey design team with feedback on design effectiveness. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + High School diploma + Ability to be on-site at locations throughout Providence, RI region at various times during the morning (as early as 5:30 AM), midday, and evening (as late as 11:00 PM). **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience conducting public outreach, especially in an in-person setting. + Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing Bachelor's Degree or higher in Communications, Public Transportation, Planning, or a related field + Knowledge of passenger rail service in Connecticut. + Valid Driver’s License preferred. **Additional Information** **Additional information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this position. + Local/Regional travel is required for this position. + Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. \#LI-SG1 Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
