Transportation Specialist – HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) - What Will You Do?

• Support NESL through developing, planning, and performing day-to-day scheduling of HMA materials for delivery and pick-up.
• Work with customers on details of scheduled jobs.
• Provide back-up to Customer Service Representatives / HMA Coordinator.
• Complete and accurate daily order taking and input.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with sales and production staff.
• Assist in resolution of customer delivery issues.
• Assist required staff in problem solving related to the dispatch segment.
• Maintain accurate records of backlog and shipped orders.
• Ensure orders are shipped in a safe and timely manner.

Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

• Proven experience in transportation, customer service, or dispatching experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of HMA/aggregate products, specifications, and delivery schedules.
• Working knowledge of assigned geographical service areas.
• Proven ability to make quick decisions and problem-solve based on factual information. 
• Working aptitude of Microsoft Office Suite, Apex, Five Cubits and Command Track.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and periodically stressful environment with time-sensitive deadlines. This requires flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work.
• Ability to work independently but as part of a team concept.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
