Overview:POSITION SUMMARY: Provides daily supervision, direction and redirections for assigned staff/region within the Transportation department. Routinely spends time in the field to provide field supervision, conduct on-going training, and complete audits. Ensures all assigned administrative tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Essential Functions Statement(s):
- Monitors and tracks the movement of assigned vehicles as necessary.
- Supervises the daily activities of assigned site and personnel.
- Assists with completing truck audits. Responsible for reporting and researching any issues found on the audits to assigned Coordinator.
- Provides dock and or facility supervision.
- Performs work activities of subordinates when necessary.
- Assists with and oversees the training of new staff as assigned. Provides any necessary ongoing training such as conducting huddles and safety meetings.
- Assists in completing monthly vehicle inspections on all vehicles and monthly random in-field inspections on all trucks.
- Performs drive tests for prospective drivers.
- Acts as safety leader for the department. Conducts all safety meetings and drills and provides ongoing training for safety during huddles.
- Communicates any policy/procedure violations and assists with disciplinary matters as needed with the knowledge and supervision of the coordinator.
- Ensures assigned staff make every effort to meet the needs of the stores, DCs, and most importantly the donor in the most efficient and courteous manner.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations and ensures that others do the same. Reports any unsafe acts or violations to their Coordinator or Manager immediately.
- Complies wit and ensures that all assigned staff comply with all guidelines set forth in the Truck Driver and Truck Helper Training Manual.
- Addresses donor and internal customer concerns. If unable to resolve, immediately refers the concern to their Coordinator or Department Manager. Documents and reports any concerns or issues in a prompt and timely manner.
- Ensures all necessary scheduling for needed repairs and service work for company vehicles to include: preventative maintenance, mechanical and body repairs, smog certification, teletrac installations/removals and graphic installations/removals is completed. Notifying the appropriate Coordinator/Manager of any concerns.
- Performs daily tasks such as, issuing equipment and supplies to staff as needed, assisting with issuance and return of company uniforms and locker assignments, removing Poly-Loks, and monitoring vehicles through Teletrac (GPS) system.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Education: Associates Degree (Two year college or technical school) preferred.
- Experience: One year transportation industry experience, and two plus years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Computer Skills: Must have proficient basic skills in the following; Email, MS Word, and MS Excel. Experience in the use of GPS tracking software preferred.
- Certificates & Licenses: Valid California Driver's License with driving record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company's standards.
- Other Requirements: Experience operating a bobtail truck preferred.
