Role:
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible to support all on-road driver operations at Julius Silvert. This role will report to the Transportation Manager and work closely with the Fleet Safety & Compliance Manager to ensure all drivers are performing their duties safely and in accordance with all policies and procedures. This role will focus on ensuring the required delivery procedures and reporting is executed daily. The Transportation Supervisor supports the On-Road operation as needed through driver training, observations, communication, reporting and delivery support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with driver start up operations including scanner loading, paperwork confirmation, ELD log in, and pre-trip compliance.
- Ensure all drivers have all equipment necessary to perform the job, and are in full uniform prior to departure.
- Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures including delivery scanning, returns compliance, OS&D reporting, route adherence, and communication.
- Ensures compliance with all FMCSA & DOT regulations.
- Support the execution of and compliance with the Company Safety & Training plan for drivers.
- Perform on-road observations to confirm delivery procedure compliance and efficiency along with proper product & customer care.
- Work with existing drivers to maintain high quality operations and assist with new driver training and on-boarding.
- Monitor and review scanning compliance. Report accordingly.
- Facilitate positive communication with customers on-road.
- Troubleshoot and solve on-road challenges for our drivers and customers through creative solutions and a positive attitude.
- Support all accident investigations, reviews, and re-training as needed.
- Flexible schedule including on call as needed to support a 6 day operation.
- Ensure all end of day/driver wrap up procedures are followed and documentation complete (ie: driver check-in, returns processing, etc.)
