About the Job
Major Responsibilities:
- Colloaborates with vendors and carriers resolve service issues and improve performance.
- Reviews vendor requests to change transportation mode.
- Identify, measure and manage key performance indicators
- Code carrier late deliveries or pickups in system.
- Gather spot quotes as needed.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports as assigned.
- Perform qualitative and quantities analysis using a variety of tools to solve transportation related business problems.
- Assist in developing and implementing savings and process improvement programs.
- Solve problems using analytical, practical, & critical thinking skills
- Understands and demonstrates Essendant’s Core Values.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of all modes of transportation
- Demonstrated competency in MS Excel
- Experience working in a transportation management system (TMS)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of working cross functionally and within a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
- Minimum a year experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, operations, logistics, supply chain management preferred
