Title: Cath Lab Tech (Special Procedures)
Location: Pikeville, KY Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Mon-Fri, 7a-7p plus 8-10 call days every 6 weeks
Requirements: Graduation from and accredited Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography program. required: ARRT, KY Radiiation, BLS, EKG 2 years experience required, 5 years preferred.
Travel Experience Required.

JOB SUMMARY: Ensures the delivery of quality services in areas of operation. Plans and implements the quality assurance program for the department. Evaluates technical and support staff in the delivery of their work. Provides for efficient patient flow and quality services within Cardiac catheterization and Electrophysiology labs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment in Cardiac catheterization and Electrophysiology labs. Is responsible for supervision and direction of staff in the assigned areas. 2. Supervises the ongoing quality testing within the area with assigned personnel and outside vendors as necessary. 3. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with government regulatory requirements. 4. Prepares work schedules and assign duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. 5. Helps to ensure that department operates within budget. 6. Promotes communication within on/an inter-departmental and intra-departmental level. 7. Supervises employees relative to performance and conduct, attendance, and adherence to department and hospital policies. Responsible for supervising the orientation of new employees. 8. Demonstrate and actively promote an understanding and commitment to the mission and values of PMC through performing behaviors consistent with the organization code of Ethics. Fosters attendance, and adherence to department hospital policies. 9. Adheres to dress code. 10. Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees. 11. Meets all departmental specific competencies. 12. Adheres to medical center policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines. 13. Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with the medical center code of conduct and applicable corporate policies and procedures. 14. Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity. 15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate should possess knowledge in policies, procedures, and all equipment in Cardiac catheterization and Electrophysiology labs. Knowledge in keyboarding in required. Basic Computer skills including: 1. Turn your personal computer on and off. 2. Recognize the four major parts of the computer. 3. Identify and explain the use of the four parts of the standard keyboard. 4. Recognize the mouse and understand how to use it. 5. Open and close a program using Windows. 6. Recognize and understand the operator panel on a printer 7. Load paper.
