Travel Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
Location: Coos Bay, OR
Shift: Rotating 4 x 10
Job Overview:
The Travel CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT scans for diagnostic purposes in various healthcare facilities across different locations. This role requires proficiency in operating CT equipment, patient care, and collaboration with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure optimal imaging results.
Responsibilities:
- CT Scanning: Perform CT scans according to established protocols, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnoses.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, addressing any questions or concerns, and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Equipment Operation: Operate CT machines and related imaging equipment, adhering to safety standards and protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
- Image Review: Review images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as necessary and consulting with radiologists regarding any abnormalities.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients throughout the procedure, ensuring their safety and comfort while providing emotional support.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procedures, including patient information, scan protocols, and any pertinent clinical data in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses and contribute to patient care plans.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control measures, ensuring equipment is functioning properly and adhering to regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited program; a Bachelor’s Degree may be preferred.
- Licensure: Current certification as a CT Technologist (ARRT-CT) and state licensure as required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in CT imaging; travel experience is a plus.
- Skills: Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, move, and assist patients, as well as stand for extended periods.
