**Job Title:** CT Technician - Cat Scan

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology required; less than 1 year experience in CT preferred
**License:** Certification in Radiologic Technology
**Certifications:**
- ARRT Radiography
- ARRT Computed Tomography
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

- Ability to function independently and under pressure
- Customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Competence in all aspects of CT, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection
**Job Description:**
- Provide safe, age-appropriate care by performing exams according to department procedures
- Independently perform a variety of technical procedures using equipment for diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases
- Verify proper clinician order for procedure and obtain complete clinical history
- Administer contrast medias following established procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Review CT/radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients as appropriate
- Respond to emergency situations, restock crash cart, and maintain life support equipment
- Organize schedule, time, and priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time frames
- Follow physician instructions for procedures and demonstrate proficiency with loading and operating power injection
- Use critical thinking skills and dialogue with patients/families to clarify orders and address questions or concerns
- Maintain and clean equipment according to infection control policy
- Explain the purpose and nature of exams to minimize patient anxiety and ensure cooperation
- Participate in orientation and training of departmental employees
- Consistently produce acceptable images, as evidenced by radiologist feedback and quality audits
- Restock linens and supplies and maintain department in a clean and orderly condition
- Transport and position patients, applying shielding and immobilization devices as needed
- Keep supervisor informed of responsibilities on an ongoing basis
- Operate all workstations associated with the CT department and maintain regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with all hospital policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
