License: Radiologic Technology certifications required upon hire
Certifications:
- ARRT Radiography
- ARRT Computed Tomography
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

- Competent in all aspects of CT, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection

Job Description:
- Be flexible with work hours to meet department needs and maintain dependability, accountability, and cooperation
- Provide safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing exams according to department procedures
- Perform technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative using equipment for diagnosing and treating diseases
- Set up equipment and position patients for imaging services and procedures
- Verify proper clinician orders and patient identity using two unique identifiers
- Obtain complete clinical history and assess contraindicating conditions
- Administer contrast media safely, ensure studies have proper identification, and review images for clinically acceptable results
- Respond to emergencies, maintain life support equipment, and restock the crash cart
- Assist other technologists and observe patient conditions to evaluate the need for physician intervention
- Follow procedures for privacy, comfort, and dignity throughout exams
- Demonstrate proficiency with procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient age
- Use critical thinking skills, dialogue with patients and families, and seek clarification when needed
- Understand and document pre-procedural verification and Time Out process when appropriate
- Demonstrate sterile technique and competency with venipuncture
- Minimize patient anxiety by explaining exams and addressing questions using AIDET: Acknowledge, Introduce, Discuss, Explain, and Thank
- Participate in employee orientation and training, and provide preparatory instructions for procedures
- Maintain concise, legible documentation with precise terminology
- Achieve consistently acceptable image quality as evidenced by radiologist feedback
- Ensure fully operational equipment before use and report malfunctions promptly
- Clean and disinfect equipment following infection control protocols
- Send studies to PACS immediately after completion and manage completed log sheets as necessary
- Restock linens and maintain department cleanliness and order
- Transport and assist patients on and off procedure tables
- Perform clerical and supportive duties to ensure service continuity and quality
- Maintain an individual productivity rate comparable to coworkers and share knowledge willingly
- Operate all workstations associated with the CT department
- Maintain regulatory standards and take call when necessary
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
