**Job Title:** CT Scan Technologist
**Job Specialty:** Cat Scan
**Job Duration:** 10 months
**Shift:** 10:00 PM - 8:30 AM, 4 x 10-hour shifts Mon-Thu
Weekends as needed
Holidays as needed.
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of prior CT experience
Familiarity with Siemens CT, Siemens Definition, and GoTop.
**License:** NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
**Certifications:**
- ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
**Must-Have:** Ability to start IVs and inject contrast media.
**Job Description:**
- Perform complex CT procedures and utilize professional judgment to review and record patient clinical history for procedures.
- Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires with the patient and/or family member for accuracy.
- Identify and/or administer contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Communicate with the Radiologist and Referring Physician to verify exam prescriptions and obtain additional clinical information when needed.
- Verify insurance authorization and facilitate exam scheduling and financial verification processes.
- Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians or family members.
- Evaluate radiographs using the PACS System to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
- Use appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records and other health care providers.
- Ensure that patients are appropriately prepared for procedures.
- Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and document any questions or concerns related to the procedures.
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures as per established guidelines.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during procedures.
- Adhere to the standards of employee behavior, attendance, and punctuality.
- Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours a day.
- Modify and deliver patient care tailored to the specific needs of the patient population served, considering factors such as age, culture, and communication abilities.
- Follow the standards identified in the medical center's organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
