Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team. In this role, you will operate a CT scanner to capture detailed cross-sectional images of patients' internal structures, assisting physicians in diagnosing a variety of medical conditions. You will be responsible for patient positioning, preparing and operating the equipment, and ensuring the highest standards of care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate CT Equipment: Perform CT scans on patients as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging of the body’s internal structures.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for CT procedures, including explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the exam.
- Image Quality and Protocols: Ensure the highest quality of images by following established protocols and adjusting settings (e.g., contrast, exposure) based on patient characteristics.
- Administer Contrast Agents: Administer intravenous (IV) contrast agents or oral contrast as prescribed by the physician, following all safety protocols and monitoring patients for allergic reactions.
- Maintain Patient Safety: Monitor patients during the procedure, ensuring their safety and comfort, while maintaining radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functionality of CT equipment, troubleshoot minor issues, and report major malfunctions to the appropriate technical support personnel.
- Collaboration with Medical Team: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure timely, accurate imaging results for diagnosis and treatment.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document procedures, patient data, and images in the medical record. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA).
- Sterile Environment: Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the imaging area and follow infection control protocols.
- Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in CT technology and imaging techniques, and participate in ongoing training as required.
