Job DetailsJob Title: CT Technologist - RegisteredDepartment: Radiology Services CT ScanJob Summary: CT Technologists work under the direction of the Radiologist to perform a variety of routine and complex CT scanning examinations for the purpose of diagnosing abnormalities, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and continuity of patient care.Functions and Duties: Independently performs computerized tomography exams of the head, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, chest and spine.Receives and evaluates physician orders with patient history and information.Safely administers oral and IV contrast, utilizing power injectors.Works with Radiologist for pertinent information.Coordinates with vendors for service and notifies manager with any equipment issues.Performs all Computerized Tomography quality assurance testing and logs into computer.Coordinates patient information with picture archive communication system and electronic medical record to save data and radiation dose.Performs duties as a Radiologic Technologist as needed.Physical Demands: Job requires sitting for extended periods of time, walking considerable distances, raising/lowering up to 25 lbs. and exerting force up to 50 lbs., grasping/picking up items and reaching for objects.Job requires normal vision, hearing, speaking and use of computer.
Job RequirementsEducation: Graduate of an AMA approved radiology program required.Experience: One year of CT experience preferred.Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.Ability to start IVsAbility to maintain radiation safety.
