Department: Rad Tech / CT Tech *Certifications Required: BLS, ARRT * - General Requirements: CT experience, no certification is required. - How many scanners/rooms does this department have?: 1 Xray room, 1 CT room - Will they have to float/cover any other areas?: No Floating outside of the imaging department - Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties: Plain films: all common films, extremities, chest, etc. CT they see a lot of head chest, Abd/pelvic and also a few Angio studies. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have one year of experience. They will accept first time travelers. - Average # of scans/studies per day: On a busy day they typically perform around 30 Xray's and 10 CT's, - What EMR &/or PACS: PACS- Novarad, EMR- CPSI - Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens): Xray & the Portable are Semens. CT is a GE. - Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech?: Shane is the manager. - Radiologist in-house 24/7?: Radiologist is in hours during day hours. Radia is the afterhours service they use. - Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department): Bonus if they have IV starting experience but not required. - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 4-10hr shifts a week. Typically Mon-Thur or Tues-Friday. 7am-5pm or 7:30am- 6pm. There are times that they could be the only tech on. (i.e. sick calls) - Weekend Requirements: Weekends= One weekend every 4 months. Typically does not have travelers do weekends. - Holiday Requirements: No holidays for travelers. - Call or Standby requirement? Response time?: Call 1 night a week. Response time is 30 minutes or 20 for a trauma. - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided?: No specific color needed and they do not provide them. - Department specific orientation: Typically they will shadow another tech for about a week or until comfortable being on their own. - Additional Notes: Pretty straight forward department. Need to know that it is a very rural area. They have a mobile MRI unit come in that provides their own techs.
