Job Title: Dialysis Technician - Traveler
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Dialysis Technician to join our team as a traveler. In this role, you will travel to various healthcare facilities to provide critical dialysis services to patients with kidney failure or chronic kidney disease. As a Travel Dialysis Technician, you will operate dialysis equipment, monitor treatments, and ensure patient safety and comfort across diverse settings.
Key Responsibilities
Dialysis Treatment Setup: Prepare and calibrate dialysis machines according to established protocols, ensuring accurate settings and patient-specific adjustments.
Patient Preparation: Assess patients before dialysis, taking vital signs and reviewing any recent changes in their health status. Prepare access sites and ensure patient comfort throughout the treatment.
Treatment Monitoring: Monitor dialysis sessions closely, checking vital signs, adjusting flow rates, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Respond promptly to any adverse reactions or alarms.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on dialysis machines, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions or required repairs.
Patient Education and Support: Provide patients and families with guidance on dialysis treatment, diet, and post-treatment care. Answer questions and offer emotional support as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of each treatment session, noting patient vitals, treatment details, and any complications or observations.
Collaboration: Work closely with nurses, nephrologists, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated care for each patient.
Qualifications
Certification: Certification as a Dialysis Technician (CCHT or BONENT certification) preferred and any state-specific licensure requirements.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dialysis Technician, ideally with experience in different healthcare settings.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to operate dialysis equipment confidently.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel and adapt to diverse healthcare environments.
