**Job Title:** Mammography Technologist

**License:** RT or RT (R) (M)
**Certifications:** BLS Certification
**Must-Have:**
- Valid certifications and licensure
- Understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
**Job Description:**
- Administer ionizing radiation when performing screening and/or diagnostic mammograms according to established protocols
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and subsequent evaluation of imaging parameters to optimize patient imaging and care while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards
- Integrate technical skills, patient interaction, and care to obtain viable diagnostic information as ordered by the physician
- Utilize independent professional judgment and critical thinking to obtain diagnostic information and seek direction from a qualified interpreting physician or lawful institutional policies to continue or discontinue the exam
- Remain sensitive to the physical, cultural, and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and nondiscriminatory manner
- Participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess professional performance
- Comprehend the complexities of appropriate state and federal regulations and have knowledge of the quality control and quality assurance requirements for mammography
- All placements require vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption for COVID-19
- Electronic Medical Records system used is EPIC
- Holiday coverage required.
