Anticipated Duration: 13 Weeks/3+ months

Job Details:

• Provides accurate, timely, and cost-effective laboratory testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Performs complex tests in chemistry, serology, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, endocrinology limited microbiology and microscopic observations.
• Performs testing on quality control and proficiency tests.
• Complies with laboratory and hospital’s safety procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance and function checks as scheduled.
• Identifies real or potential problem situations or equipment failures, attempts to resolve within area of specialty or knowledge, and refers complex issues to appropriate source.
• Completes records, reports, and other statistical data as required.
• Communicate appropriately with clients, patients, coworkers and the general public.
• Promotes and adheres to the elements and provisions of MMV compliance program, including the annual training and competency requirement.
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Lab Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry.
• ASCP certification preferred
• At least one (1) year recent experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience Required: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Blood Gas, Blood Bank, Limited Microbiology , Coagulation, Urinalysis
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• New York State License as a Medical Technologist.
