MRI Technologist (Traveler) Job Description
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and adaptable MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) to join our team as a traveler, providing high-quality imaging services across multiple healthcare facilities. As a traveling MRI Tech, you will operate MRI equipment, perform imaging scans, and ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures. This role requires technical expertise, flexibility, and a dedication to delivering exceptional care in diverse clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
MRI Imaging Procedures: Perform MRI scans following established protocols to produce detailed images for diagnostic purposes, ensuring optimal image quality and accuracy.
Patient Preparation and Care: Educate patients about MRI procedures, address questions or concerns, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the scanning process.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to MRI safety guidelines, including screening patients for metal implants and devices, and follow radiation and magnetic safety standards.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain MRI equipment, troubleshooting any issues to ensure continuous operation and diagnostic reliability.
Documentation: Record patient information, imaging data, and technical notes in electronic health records (EHR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
Adaptability: Adjust to varying protocols, equipment, and workflows across different facilities as a traveling MRI Tech.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in MRI techniques, with a thorough understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively guiding patients through procedures.
Knowledge of safety standards and MRI safety protocols.
Flexibility to adapt to different clinical environments, equipment, and patient needs.
Education & Experience:
Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
Certification as a Registered MRI Technologist (MRI) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Minimum of 1-2 years of MRI experience in a clinical setting.
Willingness to travel and adjust to various shifts, facilities, and protocols.
