About the Job
Business Technology Integrators (BTI), headquartered in Upper Marlboro, MD, is currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer service-oriented Travel Network Engineer ( US Citizen) to support a project with the Veterans Affairs (VA).
This is a remote position that requires 50% national travel.
The successful candidate will participate and/or lead network infrastructure assessments and site survey projects for the customer enterprise.

The successful candidate will participate and/or lead network infrastructure assessments and site survey projects for the customer enterprise.
Candidates must possess the following:
- Expertise in network technologies such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks including Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Quality of Service.
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, Up Logix LM83(x), Cisco LAN 9500 and 9300s highly preferred
- Juniper MIST/XML knowledge
- Familiarity with types of cabling, interfaces and accurate connectivity to other devices
- The ability to add IP addresses
- Evaluating network design and configuration baselines and standards.
- Performing work that will include a variety of complex features and require multi- or interdisciplinary approaches.
- Examples of other activities include the following:
- The evaluation of network performance reports and provide network consulting support
- Engineering / re-engineering network consistent with customer service level requirements and approved requirements document (i.e. IPv6, multi-VRF, QOS, etc.)
- Planning logical addressing, redundancy, capacity (logical & physical).
- Providing technical information for, and final technical editing of, all documents and proposals
- Will work at an enterprise level and in cross-functional teams to assist with the development of strategic and enterprise plans.
- Must have great, customer-focused, team-oriented communications and consultative skills, be highly accountable, be self-directed and productive with strong work ethic, be willing to show “presence” and availability on IM during business hours.
- Must be willing to follow client templates and instructions with approach.
