**Job Title:** Nuclear Medicine Technician

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks (with consideration for 26-week contracts)
**Shift:** 09:00 AM - 05:30 PM, 5 days a week or 4 days a week, depending on clinical needs, with the possibility of weekend and evening on-call coverage
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 1 year
**License:** Valid state license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
**Certifications:** Eligible for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
**Must-Have:** BLS certification
**Job Description:**
- Perform PET/CT, General Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and/or Rb82 Cardiac PET.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
- Prepare and position patients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are considered.
- Perform Computed Tomography Imaging (attenuation correction only) as ordered with SPECT and PET/CT exams.
- Maintain communication and effective working relationships with hospital personnel.
- Calibrate and verify the operation of all equipment, conducting quality control procedures.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reporting for each patient exam.
- Stay up to date on imaging techniques and participate in continuing education.
- Supervise and teach Nuclear Medicine Technology students.
- Prepare the necessary equipment and supplies for patient examinations.
- Handle and dispose of radioactive waste safely, adhering to ALARA principles.
- Remain flexible to cover shifts and adapt to interruptions and emergencies.
- Participate in research studies, quality assurance, and improvement projects.
