About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Cardiovascular ICU **Job Duration:** 16 Weeks **Shift:** Nights 3x12 Hr **Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 **Experience:** One (1) year of nursing experience required **License:** Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider (AHA or ARC) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA or ARC) **Must-Have:** Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school **Job Description:** - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. - Report to and be accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director. - Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. - Identify and meet learning needs and attend education programs. - Use patient education materials relevant to patient population. - Assess readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers and developmental level of patient. - Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance needed in revision of the care plan. - Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions for patient care evaluation. - Communicate relevant information to ensure continuity of care. - Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems. - Perform bedside point of care testing as required. - Utilize organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery. - Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs. - Consult timely with resources regarding patients with complex issues or high risk for discharge planning. - Develop goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations. - Participate in activities that facilitate intra/inter-departmental collaboration. - Achieve goals and objectives within identified time frames or renegotiate with supervisor. - Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities. - Effectively use communication systems. - Participate in promoting cost-effective care. - Provide feedback to coworkers and be aware of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting the healthcare environment. - Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all. - Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families. - Develop relationships with families that promote advocacy for the patient and their needs. - Collaborate with patient/family to prepare or update the care plan. - Use multidisciplinary resources for care planning. - Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning. - Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems. - Read journals with studies or articles applicable to practice and bring ideas/questions to staff for assessment.
