About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Dialysis **Job Specialty:** Outpatient Dialysis **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Days **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of two years of hemodialysis experience and at least one 13-week travel assignment required **License:** Registered Nurse (RN) License required from a compact state **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) required **Must-Have:** Hemodialysis experience and competence in accessing and troubleshooting fistulas/grafts **Job Description:** - Provide nursing care for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. - Expected to float between inpatient and outpatient areas. - Manage and operate dialysis machines, specifically Fresenius 2008T BlueStar, with preference for experience on this machine. - Use EPIC charting system for accurate documentation. - Collaborate with dialysis technicians and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in patient care. - Expect patient ratios of 1:2 to 3 for inpatient and 1:8 for outpatient, working with a support team. - Participate in a weekly on-call rotation, with requirements for night and weekend coverage. - Conduct a comprehensive one-week orientation program to familiarize with hospital and department protocols. - Provide patient care to acute and chronic dialysis patients admitted to the hospital and those in outpatient settings. - Ensure adherence to safety and healthcare guidelines. - Comply with required response time and scheduling protocols. - Maintain professionalism and compassion while delivering patient-centered care. - Participate in weekend rotation and holiday work as scheduled, with exceptions for Thanksgiving and Christmas with compensatory work on a Sunday. - Wear navy blue scrubs as the designated uniform color.
