About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Dialysis Job Specialty: Outpatient Dialysis Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: - Dialysis experience: At least two years of hemodialysis experience required - Travel experience required: At least one 13-week assignment License: - Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota or compact state Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: - Hemodialysis experience - Competence in accessing and troubleshooting fistulas/grafts - EPIC charting system experience - Familiarity with Fresenius 2008T BlueStar Hemodialysis Machine (preferred) - Familiarity with WRO 300/300H Portable Reverse Osmosis System (preferred) Job Description: - Responsible for managing both acute and chronic dialysis patients in inpatient and outpatient settings - Expected to float between both inpatient and outpatient areas - Operate within a dialysis unit equipped with 7 inpatient chairs and portable dialysis machines, and 36 outpatient chairs, including 4 isolation rooms - Work schedule includes Monday through Saturday operations, with on-call dialysis nurse coverage for nights and Sundays - Manage patient ratios of 1:2 to 3 in inpatient settings and 1:8 in outpatient settings, with support from dialysis technicians or licensed practical nurse (LPN) - Participate in department staffing that includes charge nurses, staff nurses, and an isolation/float nurse based on staffing availability - Complete a week of orientation, requiring over 36 hours in the first week for training purposes - Call duties include one on-call shift per week, with potential for call after a working shift. Sunday involves 24-hour call with response time required within 30 minutes - Engage in weekend rotation: working every other Saturday, and Friday is not considered part of the weekend schedule - For scheduled holidays, work all holidays that fall within the week, with exceptions for Thanksgiving and Christmas, requiring make-up work on a Sunday - Wear assigned scrub color: Navy blue Please note: The job description and details provided are subject to manager approval and operational needs.
