RTO POLICY: May request up to 10 days off w/o hospital approval for clinical prescreening. Anything exceeding this amount of time, or that involves holidays, will need to be approved by the hospital

NO FIRST TIME TRAVELERS
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC & ENPC REQUIRED (both PALS and ENPC are required)
AVL START DATES: 11/19, 12/3, 12/16

4 ZONE DEPARTMENT WITH NURSES, MST (1-2) per zone plus a resource nurse per zone, HUC
Charge Nurse, patient flow coordinator that checks in EMS, triage nurses and protocol nurses
# beds/trauma bays 55 beds total + 8-12 swing beds / 4 trauma bays
Do you have a Fast track YES, known as AC (accelerated care)
Do you have a separate Triage area & do you allow/require travelers to do Triage? We have a separate triage area in the lobby, and travelers would only be asked to do triage after completing additional triage orientation and competency testing. Most of our travelers do not do triage.
Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed w/in the ER? RNs manage their own holds – if they are long holds, we have RNs from other units that may take assignments in the ED to help with holds
Do ER RN's manage their own ER holds?
Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms? Yes, and a 24 /7 monitor tech
In-house Security Yes, and they sit outside and in zone 4 in our ED

Ratios 4:1 for main ED, 5:1 for accelerated care (fast track), 2:1 for critical care
Required Certifications PALS, TNCC, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, ENPC
Common diagnoses/Types of patients STEMI, Stroke, DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Respiratory Diseases, Behavioral Health
Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have 2+ years of ER experience, 1+ year of trauma experience, and prior travel experience. Must be comfortable providing culturally competent care to a highly diverse population of patients. Must align with our mission to care for our community like family.

Nurse Aids/Paramedics/Patient sitters MST – ED techs and pt sitters
EMR EPIC ASAP
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Does RT do ABG's, breathing tx, EGS's? RNs draw ABGs and set up small dose breathing txs, RTs manage all RT equipment and are always available for consult. RNs and MSTs perform ECGs.
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? MST and RNs
X-Ray or CT in the ER? Transport? They are in ED/ RNs are required to transport critical pts
Phlebotomy or nurse draw Nurse and MST draws
