Certification Details
- Part-time - 24 hours per week - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - 7:30am-4:00pm.
- Needed for a start.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher-level degree in nursing, healthcare or adult education from an accredited college or university
- Two (2) years of recent experience in medical/surgery, critical care, emergency, or pediatrics
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Able to travel to all Health System affiliates and clinics on an as-needed basis
- Clinical specialty area can include maternal child
- Recent experience in nursing education
- Experience with Curriculum Development
- Project Management Experience is preferred
- Certification in Nursing is preferred
- Typical Duties
- Participates in educational needs assessments
- Assessment of nursing staff competence, identifying the need for education and development programs using a variety of methods
- Uses research findings and principles of evidence-based practice to educational activities and patient care
- Applies knowledge of adult learning theory, learning styles, change theory, cultural and generational diversity in planning programs
- Evidence-based strategies to assist learners to develop clinical skills
- Participation in data analyses to enhance educational activities
- Information technology skillfully to support the education process
- Assists Nursing Leadership within specialties to evaluate practices and procedures, promoting established standards of care
- Development and initiation of initiatives to improve patient care and safety
- Establishes and maintains effective partnerships
- Educational activities that positively impact care
- Representation on organization committees
- Travels to other campuses as needed
- Equipment stewardship and maintenance
- Coordinates and participates in new hire orientation
- Instructs and/or teaches Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Details
