Registered Nurse – Intensive Care - ICU - Travel - (ICU RN)
StartDate: 11/26/2024 Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $1905.46 - $2099.90
Night shift is non negotiable 26 weeks is highly preferred About Facility: Address: 489 State St. Bangor, ME 04401 Level II Trauma Center Bed: 411 General Information: Beds: Varies, based on unit Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? No, 2 years Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Please ask all travelers about charge experience and include in the offer if they have/have not worked in a CRN capacity Multispecialty Critical Care patients: Medical/Surgical/Cardiac/Neuro/Ortho/Trauma/Interventional Common diagnoses included but are not limited to: Stroke, ICP monitoring, EVD Drains, spinal precautions, DKA, Sepsis, Multisystem trauma, COVID, STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart failure ICU Float Pool RNs could float to ER Hold/Obs and care for MedSurg level patients there and Stepdown units – this can happen as often as is needed Patient Ratios: 1:2, based on acuity. May get 3rd patient as one is being downgraded ED Hold/Obs: 1:4-5, dependent on acuity Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Skills required: No more than 6 days of RTO (no holidays) is accepted at this time Neuro and Trauma experience is an absolute must – please decline travelers without this; Ventilator management, critical care drips/titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, measuring cardiac strips, drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines: art lines/CVP, Stroke experience Support within the Department: CNA (Ratio - 1:10 days; 1:10 nights) Charge nurse Phlebotomy, shared responsibility with RN Resource Nurse 0700-1900, depending on unit House Supervisor, 24/7 RT, 24/7 Hospitalist, 24/7 Cardiovascular Surgeon and team for CV surgical patients, 24/7 Intensivist, available for consult 24/7 OT, PT, ST – 0800-1600 Technology/Equipment: EMR: Cerner IV pumps: Alaris Medication dispensing: Pyxis Monitors: Floating: If yes, where? This is a float pool position that floats between all levels of care, appropriate to care type – this does include floating into the ED to take ED holds (patients with admission orders) AND/OR ED Observation patients (holding orders but not fully admitted); will include patients within your scope of practice and below; as well as PACU Holds (patients with inpatient orders awaiting a bed) Orientation: General hospital orientation followed by a tour by the education department to each floor. They get one shift of orientation and then they are on their own Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other Day shift: Sat/Sun Night shift: Fri/Sat On call? No Holiday Expectations: No RTO accepted for Holidays Approval of RTO: to go through manager Shift times: see posting Schedule cycle: Other notes: Scrub Color: Any color, must be professional No crocs with holes Parking: Free
Required Qualifications
ME RN license or compact state lic
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
ICU SCL and Reference within a year
RTO upon submission, no more that six days.

100 mile radius rule
Will not accept previous perm Northern Lights employees
Coversheet needs to include perm address and mileage from facility
