Registered Nurse – Intensive Care - ICU - Travel - (ICU RN)
StartDate: 10/21/2024 Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $1913.86 - $2109.15
SimpliFi will no longer book travel pairs on the same unit and shift regardless of relationship status. ASAP start needed Simplifi Interviews Address: 50 Union St., Ellsworth, ME 04605 Hospital Beds: 64 General Information: Beds: Mixed acuity unit - 9 ICU beds available, mixed ICU and Med Surg level patients, continuously changes based on inpatient acuity & census Minimum experience? 2 years; 1 year of ICU experience required Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes Patient Types: Vents, Sepsis, PNA, DKA, Detox, CHF, COPD exacerbation Surgical complications: Total Joints (knees, hips, etc.), General Surgical, Appendicitis, Colectomies, Small Bowel Resection, Urology (Turps, Cystos) Patient’s with substance use disorder in addition to other medical issues Pediatric patients that must stay overnight after surgery (Rare) Patient Ratios: 1:3 – acuity based Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Skills required: Charge RN experience and willingness to act as Charge – as often as is needed. Please decline travelers if they are unwilling to do this Chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals (rare), CVP, A-Line care/blood draws Insulin gtts, Cardiac gtts Nursing must read and interpret strips for ICU and MSU Support on the Unit: Charge nurse: takes assignment most shifts RT, 24/7 Hospitalist, 24/7 Centralized Tele monitoring tech Charting System: Cerner Floating: If yes, where? May float to Med Surg to take a patient assignment (ratio 1:5 days & 1:6 nights) May float to ED to task/as helping hands Orientation: (facility and unit) General hospital orientation, includes online learning modules through Health Stream and Promise Point as well as time spent with the Clinical Education department 1 shift on unit and 1 additional shift to charge training if applicable - need varies / dependent on current staff available Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other; travel pairs are allowed to work the same weekend generally Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No call Holiday Expectations: yes, as needed Approval of time off? Seek manager approval Other notes: Scrub Color: Any color, must be professional Free Parking? Yes
