About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour days, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., weekends as needed, with possible float to Pediatrics, PICU, Nursery, or Mother-Baby **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in NICU required; 1 year in NICU with other RN experience **License:** Active RN License **Certifications:** BLS, NRP, STABLE **Must-Have:** Ability to titrate drips **Job Description:** - Provide comprehensive care in a Level IV NICU with 61 beds and 24 rooms - Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-3 - Care for patients with conditions such as prematurity (22 weeks and above), respiratory distress, surgical needs (e.g., tracheostomies, g-tubes), and feeder/growers - Operate and manage various respiratory therapy equipment such as Drager, Servo, HFJV, HFOV, Nava, CPAP, and Nasal Cannula - Work collaboratively with a team that includes a charge nurse, 1-2 nurse aides/patient care techs per shift - Neonatologist and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner available 24/7 - Utilize Epic Systems Corporation's EpicCare Inpatient - EMR for charting - Abide by a non-flexible schedule arranged by a scheduler; no more than 5 shifts in a row - Fill in shifts as needed for weekends and holidays - Have the potential to float to other departments or lower acuity NICUs - Attend orientation consisting of two shifts on the unit and one shift with an educator to review unit standards - Adhere to the facility's radius rule concerning accommodation proximity Note: Candidates must comply with a cancellation policy allowing for four shift cancellations per 13-week assignment, and blue scrubs must be worn as per dress code.
