- Great hospital is in need of travel ICU RNs to work a 13 week contract.
- Traveler would work 36 hrs a week. 12hr Shifts.
Job Details
- Need to be able to titrate vasoactives and be comfortable with vents.
- Team player, ask questions.
- Prefer two years of experience.
- Previous travel highly preferred.
- RN's must be proficient in reading strips.
- Float to critical care units- PCU, post op heart unit (hearts POD1) and Tele/M/S as required.
- Looking for a team player and someone that is not afraid to ask questions.

Schedule Information
- # of beds 20-Split into 3 sections- 6 bed, 6 bed, 8 beds - patients are intermixed.
- Ratios 1:2
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients CABG, sepsis, resp failure, COVID, open abdomen surgicals, Carotid, vascular, AAA, Suicidal ideation, overdose, stroke post tpa, some lumbar drains and neuro surgery.
- Travelers won't take devices or open heart patients.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills Need to be able to titrate vasoactives and be comfortable with vents.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips Pressors, sedation, paralytic, anti arrhythmics.
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge nurse and resource nurse - both out of staffing so there is great support available.
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Yes- have an LNA for all three sides
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Hospitalist in house 24/7. Intensivist on call after hours but there is NP on the unit at night.
- RT in ICU 24/7 yes
- RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Vents, Bipap, HFNC - respiratory manages.
- Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? RN's must be proficient in reading strips.
- Monitors in each room, nurses station and throughout the hallway
- Floating Requirements Float to critical care units - PCU, post op heart unit (hearts POD1) and Tele/M/S as required
- Scrub Color/Dress Code Any color as long as they are professional and not revealing
- Unit/Department specific orientation 2 shifts on the unit with the preceptor and two days with the educator. (orientation may change a little as they are currently revamping. The 2 shifts on the unit will not change)
