Job Requirements
- 12 hr shifts
- Shift starts 07:00 and ends at 07:30
- Report is at the bedside
- OT and extra shifts are available
- Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it
- Schedules are out 4 weeks
- Travelers can access their schedules from home
- Travelers make themselves "available" for extra shifts and can make trades with other staff
- Block scheduling is generally not available
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts minimum in 4 weeks period
Schedule Information
- Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
- Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black
- Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy
- Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
- Vents: Yes
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes
- IV Team: No
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
- Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen
- Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with a preceptor
Unit Specific Information
- Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Managers will make the final call on scheduling
- Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed
- PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYS EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE. MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS. IT’S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET 2 ATTEMPTS. A SCREENSHOT SHOWING THE NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IS REQUIRED.
