About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $2795 To $3105 **Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Labor and Delivery (L&D) **Job Duration:** 12 months **Shift:** 12-Hour Days, 2 weekends every 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** Required **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate EFM **Must-Have:** Strong IV skills; comfortable using evidence-based algorithms; able to circulate C-sections **Job Description:** - Clinical team will pre-screen all candidates. If recommended, manager to conduct a second interview or offer based on clinical notes. - Orientation includes MyJourney modules assigned during the orientation phase. - The unit handles an average of 200-240 births per month with 9 beds and 7 triage beds. - Patient ratios aim to adhere to AWHONN standards; 1 to 2 if managing a patient on magnesium. - Electronic Medical Record systems in use include Cerner, Fetal Link, and McRoberts MyChild for infants. - Support staff includes a Charge Nurse per shift and OB techs. - Weekend requirement includes 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks; holiday shifts vary. - Scrub uniforms are provided by the hospital. - OB hospitalist is in-house 24/7; anesthesia is on-call 24/7. - Nurses must have strong IV skills, as there is no dedicated IV team. - Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services are available 24/7. - No on-call requirement, but opportunities may be available. - Shifts start at 7 AM and 7 PM; staff must be dressed, ready, and able to obtain reports. - Possible floating to postpartum units as needed. - Floor-specific orientation includes 3 shifts in the unit. - Must have experience handling a diverse patient population, assists with epidurals, and involve in patient education. - Nurses are expected to adhere to baby-friendly and golden hour protocols, including conducting hourly rounds and bedside reporting. - Comfortable working with a diverse patient population and engaging in patient education. - Expectation to adhere to baby-friendly and golden hour protocols. - Meeting with the perinatal safety officer is required. - Nurses should have experience in baby care and be willing to educate newer nurses, with an emphasis on patient and newborn care.
