- Unit: 6 WEST - Neuro
- Number of Beds: 20 beds (14 floor, 6 stepdown)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 for Floor patients
- Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: Neurosciences, DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators), Stroke, Seizures, Surgical/PostOp Spines, Neurological Disorders
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Overall strong Neuro experience
Job Details
- BLS is required

- This unit does not require stepdown RN's
- RN's may be required to titrate drips per physician's orders
- Charge Nurse 24/7
- Assist with tele unit - RNs document verification of monitor tech’s strip reading in Epic
Job Requirements
- Shifts may include 3 in a row but not guaranteed; flexibility is required
- Nightshift 7p-7:30a
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend day positions (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), Weekend night positions (Friday, Saturday, Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, Monday), Nights (weekdays): every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation
Schedule Information
- Nurse aids on unit: Yes - 3 per shift
- Ratios for nurse aids: 1:7-10
- Scrub Color/Dress code: Any combination of white and royal blue
- Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 Shift on the unit
Unit Specific Information
- RT Equipment: RT is available 24/7 - RN's not required to have vent experience
- RT manages floor vents usually on a set setting
- Floating Requirement: Possibly to other units as needed
