About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Medical/Surgical **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Days, 3 x 12 Hr **Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience **License:** Active Registered Nurse license **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider (AHA or ARC) **Must-Have:** - Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school **Job Description:** - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards and in accordance with hospital policies and guidelines. - Report to and coordinate with the Nurse Manager/Director for delivering patient care. - Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning requirements by attending educational programs and using relevant patient education materials. - Evaluate patient care by identifying expected outcomes and seeking guidance for revising care plans. - Engage in interdisciplinary discussions to assess the effectiveness of patient care and communicate relevant information to ensure continuity. - Demonstrate competency in patient care, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. - Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required and organize care based on patient and family needs. - Consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care needs, unique teaching requirements, or those at high risk for discharge planning. - Develop goals for professional growth and participate in intra/interdepartmental collaborations and performance improvement activities. - Effectively utilize communication systems, provide feedback to colleagues, and participate in promoting cost-effective care. - Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all individuals. - Assess patient data to prioritize care, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. - Collaborate with patients and families to update care plans, incorporating multidisciplinary resources and addressing cultural and ethnic considerations. - Prioritize tasks for patients with complex issues and assess their discharge needs. - Develop relationships with families to support patient advocacy. - Engage in research and discussions on applicable studies to improve practice.
