About The Position
**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse **Job Specialty:** SRT Float Pool **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Days 3x12 Hr **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 **Experience:** One (1) year of nursing experience **License:** Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification - CPI (Depending on float pool areas) - NIHSS - Additional required certifications dependent upon unit assignment **Must-Have:** Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing **Job Description:** - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. - Report to and be accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director. - Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. - Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs. - Attend education programs based on identified learning needs and use patient education materials relevant to the patient population. - Assess readiness to learn of patients, families, and caregivers as well as developmental levels and factors affecting the ability to learn. - Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed in revision of care plans. - Participate in discussions with interdisciplinary team members for evaluation of patient care and communicate relevant information to promote continuity. - Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects. - Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required. - Utilize health care organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures to deliver care. - Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs and consult with appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues. - Develop goals to promote professional growth or address limitations and achieve these goals within the identified time frame. - Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities and use effective communication systems. - Promote cost-effective care, provide feedback to coworkers, and be aware of public policy and regulatory guidelines. - Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment. - Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care and assess discharge needs of patients and families. - Develop meaningful relationships with families to promote advocacy for patient and family needs. - Collaborate with patient and family to prepare or update care plans and use multidisciplinary resources. - Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning. - Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems. - Engage with literature and journals containing studies applicable to practice and share ideas and questions with staff for assessment of applicability.
