- The telemetry RN will provide competent and caring nursing skills while upholding the mission, vision, and values of Heywood Hospital.
- Able to interpret cardiac rhythm strips and to act/react to those findings.
- This position includes assessment, interpretation of physiological elements, development of nursing plan of care, patient education, communication with physicians, and more.

Job Details
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1 year med-surge experience preferred
- Previous telemetry experience preferred
Job Requirements
- May require rotation of shifts or adjustment of hours to meet departmental needs.
Schedule Information
- Position requires the ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips and to act/react to those findings including knowledge of IV drip titration as appropriate to W1/telemetry patient needs.
- Responsible for obtaining supporting information and completing required documentation related to medication reconciliation for use by the Attending MD.
- Interprets and documents patient cardiac rate, rhythm and configuration and initiates appropriate treatment plan based on physician orders.
- Evaluates and takes appropriate action for patients with chest pain or other cardiac related symptoms.
- Assesses patient pain level upon admission and as necessary, depending upon diagnosis utilizing the numerical pain scale.
- Safely administers medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with physicians orders, protocols, policies and procedures.
- Utilizes pain management devices and other techniques to ensure proper pain relief.
- Sets up, maintains and troubleshoots other equipment related to the surgical patient such as traction/orthopedic equipment/devices, feeding pumps, chest tubes and drains, etc.
