ID: 51627694 Shift: 12H Nights Night position for NICU NRP, BLS required Description: Unit : NICU - Nursery- Level of NICU: 2- # of Beds: 8- Ratios: AWHONN- Required Certifications: BLS and NRP Prefer STABLE - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Low- and high-risk mothers and neonates. Services include inpatient, observation, and short stay patients who may have medical or surgical problems related to pregnancy as well.- Experience: Level 3 or level 4 experience preferred; UAC/UVC, chest tubes, phototherapy, breastfeeding support, OG/NG feedings. 2 years of experience. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: TPN, D10, Dobutamine- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge nurse without a patient assignment/House Supervisor 24-7.- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 1 to 8- Neonatologist in house 24/7?: No- RT Equipment: Ventilators, UAC/UVC, Chest tubes- Is there tele on this unit?: Bedside monitors, no Monitor Tech, RNs read strips.- Shifts & Scheduling: 6:45 am to 7:15 pm or 6:45 pm to 7: 15 am Modified self schedule. Submit a schedule request. Block schedule allowed. - Weekend Requirement: Every other- Holiday Requirement: Rotational- Is there a call or standby requirement?: Two, 12 hour on call shifts per four week schedule; If flexed off for scheduled shift, may be required to take on call for scheduled shift hours.- Floating Requirements: Same pool of nurses work NICU and NBN. Will not float to outside areas. - Scrub Color/Dress Code: RN/LPNs - Navy scrubs, OR Techs - Surgical attire, WVU Medicine or solid color fleece zip-ups, may be worn in grey, black, navy or royal blue. Solid undershirts may be worn under scrub top in matching color or white, black or gray. Closed toed shoes, no crocs.- Unit/Departments specific orientation: General hospital orientation, Nursing orientation, Computer training, three - 8 Hours nursing orientation. 8 hour meditech if no experience. 3-4 12 hour orientation shifts with a preceptor.
