Job Details
- RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week.

Job Requirements
- The position is for twelve hour nights.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / self scheduling with cyclic rotation.
- Weekend Requirement: Every third.
- Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with perm staff.
- Floating Requirements: MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuity.
Schedule Information
- # of Beds: 22- average daily census of 6.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, spines- back and neck.
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pain medications, antibiotics, blood.
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:13.
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele boxes. Tele techs will read and interpret.
Unit Specific Information
- RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
- Department: Med Surg / Ortho.
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
