Location: East Saint Louis, IL
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Contractual + Extensions
Shift: 0630-1500-will vary depending on cases
Pay Range: $55.00 to $60.00/hr on W2
Start: 11/11/2024
Job Summary: The registered nurse is a professional practitioner who assesses patient needs, develops the plan of care, creates nursing diagnoses, implements interventions and evaluates patient care throughout the patient's hospitalization

- Is able to perform all duties of out-patient RN, PACU RN and GI circulating RN.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Unit Specific Duties:
- Performing role of PACU RN
- Cross-train to performing role of Same Day Surgery RN
- Cross-train to performing role of Circulator RN in GI cases
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Illinois
- CPR certified
- ACLS certified
- PALS Certified
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use critical thinking skills and problem solve effectively.
- Computer literate. Computer literacy content focuses on computer basics and the use of generic software applications such as word processing, presentation software, and the use of electronic communication such as email. Knowledge and use of EHR (electronic health record).
- Fosters team work and team building.
- Coordinates daily duties of Operating Room team members to assure safe, efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Collaborates with Medical, Surgical, and Ancillary staff in regards to surgical procedures, to assure quality, safe, patient care for our surgical patients.
- Consults and interacts diplomatically and professionally with patients, families and all members of the surgical team.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control and surgical processes, and actively supports and promotes strict adherence to policies and procedures as outlined by the department and facility.
- When requested, is willing to adjust personal schedule in order to complete workload in support of department needs.
- Is available for additional duties within scope of training.
- Identifies and maintains a professional working relationship with all employees, physicians, and both internal and external customers.
- Routinely interacts and fosters relationship with both internal and external customers to maintain awareness of needs and satisfaction of services provided.
- Communicates with other staff members and physicians.
- Identifies problems/issues which interfere with clinic practice and consults with/reports to clinic manager when appropriate.
- Utilizes best practices.
- Ability to adapt to continually changing environment
- Able to accept constructive criticism and accept own limits
- Emotional and mental stability needed to maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients, families and health team member
Physical Demands:
- Sit or stand for a prolonged period of time Prolonged walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and sitting may be required.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens.
- Handles emergency or crisis situations.
- Pressure due to multiple demands.

This is a contracted travel position with the possibility of being extended.
