Job Details
- ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA); 1 nurse to 3 to 4 patients
- RNs are required to titrate drips.
- Nurses assist with general care and unit clerk duties when indicated.
- RNs are required to read strips.
Job Requirements
- Shifts & Scheduling-7A to 7P or 7P to 7A
- Weekend Requirement-The unit will be open Monday through Friday, possibly open on Saturday 7A to 7P
- Holiday Requirement-Rotational
- No call or standby requirement.
- Floating will be required to Med-Surg units as needed
Schedule Information
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 3 or 1 to 4
- One PCT (C.N.A) for 11 patients
- RT Equipment includes C-Pap, Bi-Pap, High flow O2
- Unit will initially not have a monitor tech
- Bedside telemetry
- Orientation includes general hospital orientation, nursing orientation, computer training, two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor, and an abbreviated Initial Skills Checklist due 90 days from start date.
- 12-hour shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
Unit Specific Information
- Common titratable & set rate drips include Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Low dose Dopamine
- House Supervisor 24/7; A RN will be assigned to charge duties. This could possibly be a traveler.
- RNs may be assigned charge duties.
- There will not be a monitor tech when initially opening the unit.
