About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel **Job Specialty:** Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night Shift **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours/week **Experience:** 3+ years of PICU experience required **License:** Active compact or NC RN license **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through AHA **Must-Have:** STAT5 experience, Previous Epic experience (within the last 6 months), PVICU experience is highly preferred **Job Description:** - Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation. - Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues. - Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation. - Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes. - Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. - Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles. - Evaluate progress toward the attainment of goals and outcomes. - Practice in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles. - Communicate effectively in all areas of practice. - Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice. - Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession. - Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking. - Integrate evidence and research findings into practice. - Contribute to quality nursing practice. - Evaluate one's own and others' nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. - Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible. - Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner. - Practice ethically. - Promote shared governance, or facility decision-making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion. **Physical Requirements:** - The job requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. - Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. - Must have an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity is required. - Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. - Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions.
