**Job Title:** Occupational Therapist II
**Job Specialty:** Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
**Job Duration:** 8-week engagement
**Shift:** Monday-Friday, Day shift
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** One year experience in an acute hospital or outpatient hand clinic preferred; new graduates will be considered
**License:** Current California Occupational Therapy license required
**Certifications:** NBCOT Certification; Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification
**Must-Have:** Minimum bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
**Job Description:**
- Work under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Supervisor and Director.
- Provide occupational therapy services in inpatient and outpatient settings, including weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis.
- Evaluate patients based on physician referral, develop treatment plans and goals, administer procedures and modalities, and plan for discharge using Occupational Therapy techniques.
- Act as a case manager for assigned patients.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and current patient records following departmental policies.
- Re-evaluate and revise patient’s treatment plan regularly with necessary physician's approval.
- Provide patient, family, and caregiver instructions and guidance for home programs and use of adaptive equipment.
- Communicate with rehabilitation team members, families, physicians, and third-party payers about patient progress and changes in programs as needed.
- Participate in in-service meetings and professional development activities.
- Supervise occupational therapist assistants and possibly student interns or volunteers.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly treatment areas and report any safety concerns.
- Engage in program development and participate in committees as requested.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills within a team setting.
- Have knowledge of existing laws and regulations governing Occupational Therapy practice.
- Be willing and able to float to sister facilities and other departments as requested and qualified.
