**Job Description:**
- Provides clinical support and distribution services in coordination with physician and nursing services to deliver quality and cost-effective drug therapy to patients.
- Supervises and directs support personnel, ensuring proper preparation of all medications and supplies for dispensing.
- Reviews orders and prescriptions for clarity, potential allergic reactions, drug interactions, incompatibilities, and appropriateness of dose and route of administration.
- Accurately enters medication therapy orders into computer systems and responds appropriately to computer screenings.
- Identifies and resolves medication-related problems in cooperation with healthcare professionals.
- Provides concise, accurate, relevant, and timely drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
- Initiates and documents clinical interventions and follows up on incomplete interventions.
- Actively participates in medication error reporting, adverse drug reaction reporting, drug usage evaluations, target drug programs, and other clinical programs.
- Maintains professional knowledge base both clinically and operationally, accepting and applying principles of pharmaceutical care.
- Assists in training new staff and continues training for other staff members.
- Monitors controlled substances and stock levels of all drugs and supplies, ensuring smooth operations and security.
- Adapts to changing priorities and job requirements, works effectively under pressure and deadlines, handles frequent interruptions, and sets priorities.
- Responsible for checking medications dispensed from the pharmacy and maintaining records.
- Promotes high-quality, timely products and services while supporting department teamwork within each facility.
