hours a day/ 5 days a weekSummary/Objective The physical therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Hold license as a Physical Therapist in the state in which you intend to work Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessaryEvaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programsUtilize Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, reports and discharge summaries for patient filesGuide monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-upSupervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient careCommunicate with physicians and other persons to insure quality patient careCorrespond with co-workers other offices via phone, fax emailBe responsible for accurate patient chart documentation follow-up re: prescriptions, test results, authorizations etc.Make sure patients are comfortable and answer questions when necessary.Work closely with the front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow up.Have computer skills necessary to complete job requirements i.e
typing, Word, Internet, EMR, etc.Be able to make independent decisions regarding patient careBe involved in the business marketing referral process when necessary Be responsible for following HIPAA policy procedureBe familiar with PT billing policy procedure re: Medicare work-comp, private, auto, liens, cash pay etc
Be proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for the billing of servicesBe able to be physical mobile, including a combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour work days, based on patient care schedule.Be able to lift 50 pounds and assist moving patients with mobility restraints, assist patients with transferring, and providing stand by assistance and recovery with patient walking safety.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position supervises PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care
Work EnvironmentThis position works in the patient physical therapy clinic an outpatient/rehabilitation setting
Job Responsibilities Related to Patient Privacy Expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the Company s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider
Failure to comply with the Company s policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment
May access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete job duties
May only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information in order to complete job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other Company operations
Encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding the Company s policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy to the designated Privacy Officer
Expected to actively participate in Company privacy training
Required to communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients and others in accordance with Company policy
