Job Details-Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director.-Is responsible for performance and competency of care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations.-Effectively evaluate the results of patient respiratory care delivered per care plans.-Functions as a role model in Respiratory Care demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, select technical skills and appropriate knowledge base.-Prepares and tests respiratory therapy equipment for proper and safe operation and checks equipment in use and on units for proper operations and routine service.-Processes and maintains respiratory equipment.-Will accurately chart on the respiratory flow sheets in the EMR and on the care plans.-Will also charge accurately in the EMR.-Completes assessments on ventilator patients and all other patients on respiratory care services.-Recommends timely interventions and the need for further treatment or referral in the participant's respiratory care regimen.-Evaluates patients for routine respiratory care therapy on the inpatient units.-Evaluates patients for routine respiratory care therapy for patient in the Emergency room.-Obtains and analyses blood gases - Arterial, Venous and Capillary.
Job Requirements-Solid understanding of all aspects of Respiratory care.
Unit Specific Information-Disassembles, washes, rinses, dries and packages respiratory equipment.-Reports malfunctioning equipment to manager.-Records procedures, patient response and compliance with sleep therapy documentation requirements and consults with Respiratory Care Practitioner any adverse effects and compliance with equipment.-Relays same information in writing to physician.-Assist cleaning respiratory care related equipment.-Assist with stocking respiratory care related supplies on the inpatient care units.
